It's still sore and it's like a knot there. How do I know if i fractured it and is there anything a DR. can do?

Why didn't you do something about this within the last month? A doctor will give you painkillers but there isn't much they can do for a rib injury.
If you broke it, it should be some what painfull to breath, becasue when you breath in, the lung will push on the fractured bone cause pain. If not then you may have bruise the bone and that can be painful and cause swelling. God Bless and Good Luck.
