put ice on it immediatly if not its going to swell, make sure the fingers arent broken by making the child squeeze lightly press and bend the fingers back n fourth, if there is broken skin which is very probable clean the area and add an antibacterial spray like bactine, put neosporin on the little squirt n give them sum icecream. make sure u leave the ice on the fingers for 30 min to an hour if the fingers r broken go to the ER if not they will b just fine

You're not very explicit about this. Where was the finger trapped? What part of the door? If the door was closed on the child's finger, pack the finger in ice, immobilize it and take the child to his/her pediatrician for examination.
my brother shut all my fingers in a car door once and then me mum locked it, when she freed me she just kissed it better and left me to get on with it, i was fine, however giving the kid some ice may be a good idea and mayb pop round to your local surgery to check its not broken.
