Stop smoking patches? Nightmares?
Question:
Please any ideas let me know! Thank you in advance!
Answers:
Yeah, I had the same reaction. I guess it's pretty common. If the nightmares really bother you, you can take the patch off overnight though you will have a stronger craving in morning until the new patch starts kicking in (half-hour or so). Good luck!
I had the same problem both times I tried the patch. The insomnia lasted about two weeks after I stopped using it.
It took hypnosis to make me quit, then a year later I started up again and just gave up.
Yes! And headaches. See, nicotine is a stimulant and if the patch gives you more than what smoking did...you will have those reactions because your body hasn't built up a tolerance to that amount. Step down a level and see if it helps. I cut them in half and that seemed to help me, but READ THE WARNINGS first. I cut mine, but it may be dangerous so don't blindly follow my lead on that one. Good luck!
This is common. Removing the patch before bedtime should help some.
Just adding my two cents...
I had very vivid dreams/nightmares - though most of them were very enjoyable.
I didn't suffer from insomnia like you do; unfortunate for you.
The worst time for me was the morning commute to work - if I forgot my patch I'd nearly go crazy until I got to the stash in my desk drawer. Blech.
I've been smoke free for nearly one year. October 12th-ish.
Good Luck! Fight the two-front battle and win the war!
