Is it a good idea to wear gloves while changing a diaper?

It's never a bad idea to wear protective gloves. It's not necessary by any means, but can't hurt. Use non-latex gloves if possible. Being around lots of latex early in life could lead to a latex allergy later on in the baby's life.
not really but i suspect u dont want dirt over your hand so yes...
if your a germaphobe other wise just wash your hands after
I never did while changing my kids' diapers and I'm still alive. Just wash your hands really thoroughly afterward. Now, if you are a healthcare or daycare provider, always wash your hand after diaper changing to prevent spreading germs to others.
It takes more time to actually put on and take them off. I just wash my hands after I am done changing my baby's diaper. Also, there are some babies that are allergic to latex.
If your a dedicaded mom then dont do it. my mom never did and she would even hold my brother naked when he was littel!
Never have I when I change my own kids or one who I know the family of. However I have worked in a couple of daycares and they required us to wear them I would say if its someone you know no....If your working in a daycare yes.
I never wear gloves when i change my little brother's diapers. It's just poo. Everyone does it. Do you wer gloves when you wipe your toosh? I think it's unecessary.
It isn't necessary to wear any kind of gloves when changing a diaper. If you don't want to get pee or pooh on your hands then the only way to make sure you don't would to be to wear gloves. Make sure the gloves are latex free if you decide to wear them at all.

Even if you do wear gloves, you should still wash your hands thoroughly after you remove the gloves and some of that hand sanitizer after that wouldn't hurt either.

My wife was in a nursing home and to prevent the spread of germs, they always put gloves on for each procedure the perform. I have seen them use three or four pair of gloves i one visit to her room because they would change them after each thing they did to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria.

Every room in the nurshing home has a wall dispenser for the hand sanitizer gel, so does the hospital. I have watched nurses wash their hands and then use the sanitizer too. Every time they would come into or leave the room the first and last thing they did was hit the hand sanitizer dispenser. It's not a bad idea in that type of environment.

At home, I don't think gloves are a important and thoroughly washing your hands and using some sanitizer, between the two, you should be okay as far as preventing the spread of germs and bacteria.

Good Luck.
