Question:
I have a slight knee injury and I'm afraid training more would worsen the injury. I have two months to train for 1600 meters. I have to heal this thing as fast as possible. Although I can walk and jog slowly, sprinting is painful, as well as squatting. I also feel some "popping" at the joint when I sit down and extend my leg. Help!
Answers:
If you want to avoid surgery you are going to have to cancel the run. It sounds like you injured the knee, and didn't allow proper time to heal. You really need to get a set of crutches and stay off it for six weeks.
If you push through the pain then you will do more damage. Tendons and ligaments are very slow to heal and once severely damaged you will need surgery. Its your decision.
see doctor, this is always the first thing to do. or quit the race.
