Neck Out, what can I do until Monday?
Question:
Answers:
definitely stop cracking your neck. That is so dangerous, you could cause yourself such serious injury it's not even funny.
place a moist heating pad on your neck for fifteen minutes, several times a day. Afterwards apply an analgesic cream. This should help relax the muscles a bit. Rest and do not sleep on your side. It's important you sleep on your back so that your spine is in correct alignment. I know you're going to feel better after chiropractor. Just please don't crack your neck anymore.
Hi,
Try a neck stretch.
Stand straight, arms by your sides, tuck your chin in and try to look upwards, keeping your chin tucked as much as possible.
You should feel it pull across your neck and shoulders.
Skip
Heat for me, never cold helps.
Try a goose down pillow wrapped around the neck while in a recliner.
Get in the habit of doing stretch/stength ritual.
Get a noodle to stretch with.
No (fast) cracking!
Sleep position VERY important.
Heat and massage for spazm.
Take something for an anti inflamatory. Apply heat in any form. I find even really warm shower water has helped me in
the past. I invested in a vibrating massager that has head in
the head. I swear by mine, as it's helped with shoulder muscles, and also low back pain as well. I wouldn't go to a
chiropractor, as they can mess you up over the long haul. I'd
try a licensed, acupuncturist instead. They get right to the
nerves and help kill the pain. My husband gave one a try after
going to several chiropractors for a couple years. One actually admitted he couldn't do anymore to help. So at least
he was honest, and it saved more bills. The acupuncturist
gave him two treatments over a weeks' time, and there was
no more pain. It was unbelievable. He had been having to
sleep slumped over the dining room table as he couldn't lay
down, and he was in misery.
I'd suggest you get yourself a recliner. Preferably a Lazy
Boy as they are the best we've found for laying back in after
you're seated. And these help like a hospital bed. Even if
you're a side sleeper, you can sleep on your back in one of
these in comfort. Hubby and I, use ours for sleeping in every
night, cause we can't use a bed anymore. We invested almost $1,000.00 in a great back mattress by Simmons and
we had to sell it at a loss. Now we can watch TV and lay back
when we want to sleep, whether it's nap or bedtime. You
should look into one. As chances are your problem will stay
with you unless you try a good acupuncturist who knows what
they're doing. I know my husbands experience with chiro-
practors only gave him minimal relief, and some no help at
all. They only took his money. And he kept going back for
more cracking and continued trouble.
Good luck in your finding relief soon. Remember the hot
packs til Monday and acetomenephen or similar for inflama-
tion.
The answer is self directed manipulation. Your chiropractor may put it back but he cannot change the muscle tensions necessary to keep it there. http://www.helium.com/tm/148271...
It will not go back on it's own.
