You bet. If I needed something particular done then why not? There would be no reason not to especially if all I had to do was jump on a plane.

No, I would not. I'm not sure where you got the info on high quality healthcare, not what I've heard. Unless this is a surgery to save your life that you cannot afford in the US, I wouldn't go. There was a special last week about plastic surgery done in CR. There is a reason that people who cannot get into medical school in the US go there.
Hell No!! I watched to many surgery episodes where people went to other countries to have something done and came back with bad infections and far worse.
They went because the procedures were way cheaper then the states.
I wouldn't risk it.
