Answers:
It is medically proven that too much sleeping seriously effects your brain cells and provoke lethargic attitude in human nature. When mind is not healthy how one can think healthy and if one can not think healthy how can he act healthy and if one can not act healthy how come his body can be healthy. By the way, is that question wrote in those hours when you remain awake or while you were sleeping.don't mind...just kidding.
I don't know about the health, but that sounds horrible. I couldn't stand to sleep so much, I'd be exhausted from too much sleep.

My advice to you is to sleep only 5 or 6 hours, you'd probably be MUCH happier.

good luck.
Nothing beats a good nights sleep, but everything must be taken in moderation. You need to get active again, find something that motivates you do get out of bed. A passion, a hobby, a friend, anything. You'll be better off in the end. Besides you can sleep when you die. Enjoy your life no matter how hard that sounds :)
yes!!! to much sleep can be very bad for your body. if you're only awake for 5-6 hours then you're not eating three proper meals a day and probably not getting enough exercise.
if you exercise regularly your body will release a ton of endorphins which make you happy, plus your body will look great! plus eating healthy makes an impact on your mood. when you eat crap you feel like crap. sleep is great, but too much of a good thing isn't so good any more, try sleeping 9 hours at night and then taking an hour or two nap once during the day. :)
I have to ask. Have you sought advice for your depression? The body goes through a healing process during sleep. It is said we sleep when we really need to.But if your doing something worthwhile you shouldn't need to sleep all that much. You don't say if you work? Of course it will be detrimental to your health as you get older. The real danger will be a mental one. Do see someone about your condition.
no, i sleep like 13 hours a day now that its summer vacation an i dont have much to do i often sleep till 4 pm
enjoy sleeping while u can, it wont last long.(if ur still in school that is)
your body needs exercise!! sunlight actually contibutes to your health, go outside- it might make you feel better.
It's not dangerous, at least in the short haul, but doing that for many months or years will almost certainly cause you to decline physically due to inactivity.

Excessive sleeping is a symptom of depression.

If the depression is environmental, maybe you could change something or get out and away from "around here", at least for a while every day.

OTOH, if the depression is systemic, that's one you should probably see a doctor about.
Seems to me that being depressed works from the inside out,..it starts to make you feel bad in whatever way it does,. then you don`t eat,. sometimes you don`t sleep,..in your case you sleep to much,..being sedentary is not good for the body, blood can pool from laying the same way for long periods of time causing clots to form,.the stress from it all causes a chain reaction of things to go on,.and your body may not even let you know it`s happening till it`s too late,....so get up and get away from that negative vibe,it`s your life only you can begin the healing process..whatever it is DON`T let it win!.and please see a doctor
You sound like you are suffering from depression. Have you ever tried an antidepressant. The sleep won't hurt you physically, but why should you waste your life. I know cause I have suffered from depression. The antidepressants and therapy make a difference. I wish you well.
You need to go see a physician for depression possibly. Sleeping alot is a classic sign. Also, have you ever been checked for heart problems or diabetes? I am unsure whether you are sleeping to fight depression or because you are so tired you can't function properly. Please go to a doctor.life is too short to sleep it away.
I would advise you to see your doctor to rule out any serious medical condition. You should take up some sort of hobby, beading, art lessons(doesn't have to be serious art), but see your m.p. first. All the best.
You need to see a doctor! There are many things that can make you sleep too much although depression is the one that is most popular in today's world. Diabetics with very high blood sugar will sleep too much and there are other problems from narcolepsy on down the line. Depression and sadness can also go along with other illness. Find out what is causing the problem whether or not you decide to accept treatment for it.
I would suggest getting outside into the sunshine move around take a walk you never know the sunshine and calm of a walk might help you get out of the rut that depression causes. trust me i know wat its like my dad had Hep C and the meds they put him on caused him to be depressed so they gave him some anti depressants they didn't help much though. Anyway you don't have to go for a run or do sports just a simple walk around the block everyday could do loads. walking always helps me calm down and relax when I'm having a rough day. Hope this helps. And i would suggest avoiding the anti depressants for now if you can cause most of the time they just make the depression worse, or at lest some are know for it.
