What to do for growing pains?

Question:
my daughter just turned 4. She is always waking up in the middle of the night because her legs hurt. I put icyhot on her then meggage her. What else can I DO?? Please help.

Answers:
Use Motrin and give her a massage after she gets out of the bath. Don't use Flex-All or any muscle rub because it can kill young children...something I didn't know but found in some case it can from Discovery Health channel. Anyway, just don't give her caffeine before bed and help her relax so she can sleep better. Good luck to you and your daughter.

Besides a warm bath to soothe her, a heating pad on low will help her with the pain.
A little motrin here or there may help

My 11 year old just went through 7 months of pain in the knees with osgoods schlotter (sp) we iced it, rested her and physical therapy -
Stop putting icyhot on her, i find putting a warm rice pack on the hurting spot and it goes away, but nothing can just zap it gone. A rice bag is a towl like small pillow filled with rice. But when you put in in the micro it heats up and stays heated a long time. ITs the best thing that works for me.
