I have a blood clot on the tip of my thumb, should I leave it or create a way to relieve the pressure?

Question:
Sooooo I fell on my *** last night. Long story short, I was sitting in my chair and pushed off my computer desk to back up so I could stand up, but something was jammed on the wheel of my chair and, yep, I went flying backwards. Somehow in this process, my thumb took the worst of the injury.

It isn't broken, possibly jammed, but at the tip there is a black circle that looks like blood may be trapped underneath the skin. When I touch the black area, there really is no sensation, but I was wondering if it's best to just leave it alone or if I should take a clean needle and create a hole for the blood to escape through. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Answers:
soak it warm water then rub it as in circulate the blood---DONT APPLY PRESSURE! dont puncture it neither. we did these to my cousin he had a small splinter first, then he jammed that same finger then we tried doing the needle thing but u see the blood appears to be there "stuck"-at times it may dry up, it may be deeper than u iniatially perceived so its better if u go to the emergency room or let it clear on its own
It will take forever for the blood blister to go away if you leave it alone. My experience is to take a clean needle ( dip it in alcohol) and make a small hole for the blood to escape. You may need to apply some pressure to get it all out. In a few day's you can remove the skin that has separated. Then put an antibiotic ointment on it.
