Can you be paralyze from a neck injuries?
Question:
Answers:
Traumatic injury to the spinal column can result in paralysis yes, and depending on the location of the injury, whether someone is a quad or paraplegic. The higher the injury, the more affected. There are cord injuries that can be temperary, but seem like it's less common than severe injury. To this point we really have no treatment for severed or damaged spinal cord damages, just seems there is a glitter of hope with stem cell research. Also a broken neck or spinal column injury does not necessarly lead to cord damage. I've cared for several people who have broken their necks and not had any damage to the cord which causes the paralysis.
As for slipped discs, I have not seen one cause cord damage or injury, but thats not to say it can't happen.
Yes, it can happen.
from that one im nto sure but paralyze 'hmm i guess so because the neck is connected to the spine and wen u hurt ur neck u can hurt ur back and u need ur back to walk so hmm i guessu can get paralyzed or at least hav to wear a brace
Not from a slipped disc; that doesn't affect the spinal cord, just the vertebrae.
Unfortunately Yes ,
Unfortunate example of it , was the inflicted injury during the live coverage of a match in Greece.
It was consequently shown on international TV news.
Seceral years ago, a Yugoslavian basket-ball player, in an outburst of fury because of a referre's decison, deliberately hit his head on the post of the racket. Immediately, he felt down and that was the last he stood up for the rest of his life. He was paralyzed from the waist down and remained on wheel-chair ever since.
And that was the result of moment of hot-headedness. What of all those people who remain paralyzed by mostly road accidents?
