I had a herniated discs in my c3 and c4. It caused numbness in my hands and feet and also I was losing my balance all the time. Sometimes I could not get up off the floor when I fell! I was lucky but it can also lead to breathing and other problems depending where it is in the spine. i also have one in my lower spine. I had surgery for the neck( spinal fission) and the next day most of my pain and numbness where gone! i still have a little. I had to go to therapy for 4 wks to get my balance again. I still have the herniated disk in the lower spine and go to a pain management doctor every so often and the shots he gives me works.
I would not let it go!! Good Luck! It took awhile but I am doing better but I wish I never "let it go so far" because my recovery may have been a lot quicker. I chalked it up to my work since I did heavy lifting.
Are you talking about a herniated disc in your neck and back? If you are I think that will have to be repaired by surgery. My husband had one on his neck and it was bad. They told him that was the only thing that would help him with the pain.
