Why am i so exhausted and what can i do?
Question:
I wake up dragging to six alarm clocks. Since im usually running late i have to rush. So i am wide awake when i get to work. If i have to stand at the register i will start nonstop yawning, and eventually start literally dozing off while i am taking orders. I usually ask for a restroom break where i wash my face and do a couple jumping jacks to wake up. i do this several times a day at work, if i go home or go somewhere boring i struggle staying awake, but as long as i am active and get my heart rate up i am usually hyper. I do not think sleep is issue because i sleep seven hours every night sometimes way more. but i try to keep my sleep on a schedule because i used to have a problem getting up and active. im not depressed or stressed. I sleep very hard and never feel rested.I eat well too. I just want to know why every time, i relax i fall asleep. ps i dont have insurance to go to the doc

There are a number of conditions which can cause some of the symptoms you describe.
1. Sleep apnea. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/sleep-a...
2. Epstein-Barr Virus or cytomegalovirus (this causes mononucleosis, or "glandular fever"). http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/mononuc...
3. Anemia. There are many different types of anemia. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/anemia/...
4. Hypothyroidism. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hypothy...
5. Chronic fatigue syndrome. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/chronic...
And for a good, basic article on fatigue--causes, symptoms, what it might be, what to do, see http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/fatigue...
I am sorry, but many of the above conditions do require evaluation by a physician. Here in the United States so many people go untreated because of lack of insurance!
Different states have different programs for the uninsured--start with your local Department of Human Services (DHS) or county/state Health Department and ask about insurance programs for people who cannot afford or whose employers do not provide insurance.
For me it was depression that does that. Perhaps you are anemic. Is the fatigue worse during and right after the heaviest days of your period? If so, eat a lot of spinach and beef or take an iron supplement. Another possibility is that you could be pregnant...then you will have to see the doc.
This sounds to me like the same symptoms i had when i found out i had glandular fever, unfortunatly the only way to know for sure is to see a doctor. Glandular fever is a virus which sits in your bloodstream and becomes more apparent when you are down in some way whether it is bad sleep, bad eating, feeling low or have a cold as it weakens your immune system. Symptoms for it are tiredness, unable to wake up and get moving properly, amongst slight swelling of the neck and groin due to your glands and occasional tonsilitis or gland related infection.
There is no need to worry about this, you may only get it for a few weeks up to a few months. This may seem like a long time but you wont be completely knocked out and tired all the time just on and off.
That is the only reason i can see from me knowledge to explain your fatigue and unable to stay awake for too long.
Again, I will say there is no need to worry about it if you do have glandular fever, your body will fight it and you will be fine in no time.
I hope I have helped.

Hi, this i know. I tend to be exhausted most of the day, no matter where I am, let me stand still for 10 minutes and I will be asleep in under 5 mins. Something you might consider is a Vitamin B deficiency. I recently had a series of 12 vitamin B injections and although my appetite has also increased so has my perkiness.
And the injections worked much better than a pill and will last for at least two years.
you might be low in vit Bs. so try getting some vit B 12 and B6. works for me
