Bee stingers. why wait to take it out till you are sure there is no allergic reaction?

Question:
it just seems like you would want to get the stinger out as fast as possible because if you're allergic by waiting you're give the vemon from the sting more time to hurt you. but the experts say wait.

Answers:
If you have a known allergy to bee stings (or any environmentally common allergen) you really should be carrying an Epi Pen with you at all times. This is the only definitive and immediate treatment for an allergic reaction. Now that said:

If you are allergic, and are stung by a bee, you want the stinger out A.S.A.P. because the longer it is in, the more venom being injected. The proper way to remove the stinger, however, is not to pinch it, that just realeases all of the venom. You must "scratch" the site with your finger nail, a credit card, or something to that effect to "coax" the stinger out.

If you have never been stung before, you will not have an allergic reaction (unless you are stung by many bees at once), however, each additional beesting brings upons a worsening anaphylaxis.

If you are stuck in the neck, upper chest, face, or if you are stuck by more than one bee, and you are a known allergenic, you MUST take epinephrine S.Q. (Epi Pen) STAT (you can take up to 2-3 for severe allergic reactions) and call 9-1-1 immediately because your throat could swell up, causing airway occlusion, and usually death. =(
i've never heard to wait. i've always been instructed to remove them promtly and to be sure not to hit the sack to injects the venom or you could end up making it worse. however that being said perhaps they want to make sure you dont accidently cause more harm by injecting more venom (could be deadly if allergic) and if there is a reaction the medical staff could remove teh stinger and have then a sample of the vemon to determine what type of antivenom would be needed.
I have never heard this, you would want to remove the stinger as soon as you can. And this is important, DO NOT PULL OUT THE STINGER, SCAPE IT OFF with a credit card or something rigid like that. The longer you leave it in the more adrenaline your body must produce to counteract any reaction.
If you were allergic to the bee sting it would not take that long for the allergic reaction to take place. With me it takes less then 5 minutes and then I have a problem with my breathing and my throat closing off.
