Suture removal in children...?
Question:
Answers:
No, only scary for a 3 year old. I've had sutures removed from myself and it doesn't hurt at all.
Bless her little heart.
not painful....usually feels better because as the cut heals it itches and the sutures make itching worse.
No it is not painful. They will snip the sutures with a scissors then gently pull the threads out. Much like taking out a seam when you make a mistake sewing.
Minimally. I took my son's stitches out myself (didn't want to take him back to ER for another expensive visit). So long as the area is clean, dry with no signs of infection, it'll be a piece of cake unless your daughter freaks. Maybe she shouldn't look. Maybe the dr. could apply some lidocaine so she can't feel it very much. Honestly, it's not painful, but I don't know your daughter and her relationship with the dr.

Not painful. I've taken out my own, and so has my bf.
it's not painful, no. it feels weird, though. but, again, it is NOT painful. it feels like you would think it would feel: thread coming out of your skin. sorry if that sounds gross, but it's true. the best thing i can compare it to is flossing your teeth, pulling the floss out and all. don't worry about it, though. she will be perfectly fine. it feels great to have them out because then you can actually SCRATCH there, haha. good luck!
It's not painful at all. I would tell my child about it and be matter of fact about it.Explain that they will take a pair of tweezers and lift up on the suture just a little bit then, very carefully cut it and slide the suture out. Tell your child, that even though they have scissors, the dr. will not cut her,and it will be over quickly. And tell her if she sits very still, she'll get a cool sticker from the nurse. And a treat from you.
