Sprained ankle...?

Question:
i fell down the stairs about three weeks ago..which resulted in a sprained ankle. i can walk perfectly fine but i can still feel minor pain when i move it around..i was just wondering how long it usually takes for my ankle to go back to normal..or will it always have some sort of swollen look since i injured it?

Answers:
Sprains always seem to get better within a week, but really, its still healing. Though there is minimal pain, it can sometimes take over 6 weeks. Also, your ankle with never be 100% again, and will be easier to reinjure.
No, it won't always look like it was sprained. I did this several months ago. It did take a few months before I never felt like it had been sprained, but you should still be able to function now. Maybe mine took so long to recover because I was still walking on it a lot the day I did it (even though I was in a ton of pain). I didn't even wrap up my ankle in an elastic bandage until several hours after I had the injury.
ice it if u didnt already...it will b gone in a week or two...make sure it is sprained not fractured though b/c if its fractured ull have that for a lot longer if u dont get medical attention.
