How can I relieve chronic toothaches?

Question:
I currently am in need of two back-tooth root canals, one on either side of my mouth, but can't dish up the $600 [each]; dental insurance won't cover it either. I haven't used the right side of my mouth to chew for a year now, but the left side has recently been giving me terrible, fleeting pains. The pain has woken me up for the past three days now, and ibuprofen isn't working as well as I'd hoped.

How can I relieve the pain in my tooth?

Thanks in advance.

Answers:
my dad had this problem and he would break a tylenol in several pieces and stick it down into the hole until he had it fixed. I have also heard a few drops of vanilla, clove oil or wheat grass all are supposed to take the pain away for a while

You cant work out a payment plan with your dentist?? The longer you wait the more its going to cost in the long run.
You must have these teeth removed. Infection can set in and go to your brain. Bad teeth and gums can also affect your heart.
take clove oil on the tooth .then see ...
Take this quick online quiz. It will evaluate how bad your tooth problem is and whether or not you need to see a doctor immediately.
Check to see if there are any low costs dental clinics in your area...Also try getting this credit card you can use it at the dentist, Dr., or even the vet... www.carecredit.com... It is a really good card I used it to get my teeth fixed... Also they sell this stuff called kanka it works well for helping with the pain..Blistex makes it... But your best bet is getting it done asap before you get an infection...
Whole cloves have a numbing effect, and you can lay them on the tooth/gum for short term relief. It will feel just like Anbesol or Orejel. HOWEVER, you really should see the dentist again ASAP. Explain that you can't afford to pay for it, and ask if they will set you up on a payment plan. You may have a severe infection by now, and they will probably want to put you on antibiotics for a while and clear up the infection before they do anything anyway. Tooth infections are nothing to play around with. They can cause all kinds of other serious health problems and can even kill you if it spreads to the brain. If you don't believe me, read this article:

Please go back to the dentist.
Hi I would just get the tooth fixed and maybe the dentist would make payment arrangement with you I had similar situation. You can't function normal with that kind of tooth pain. It is not a good thing to subject your whole body to this kind of condition. Did you know that by having our mouths , teeth and gums healthy our bodies will be also. In the meantime chew a clove [whole] in the bad area. It helps the pain. Good Luck , Victoria
