Should I stop drinking caffeineated beverages/foods while on Zoloft?
Question:
Answers:
I have been on Zoloft for 6 years. I drink Mt. Dew daily. I take my Zoloft with pop. It doesnt do anything. It also says not to drink alcohol when taking Zoloft. I take mine in the morning and will go out drinking that night. Again, nothing bad happens. You are just fine.
It's not the combination that caused the problems with the Zoloft. All the caffeine is probably adding to your pain and other symptoms you listed. Your addicted to it too.
The best person to ask would be your pharmacist.
Well I'm no Dr. of course . However, I can tell you that caffeine is considered a stimulant which causes an increase in heart rate and a constrictive effect on the blood vessels which could lead to elevated BP. It also has a diuretic effect on the kidneys which causes you to urinate more. This may be the reason they say to avoid it while on certain meds... Thus, is the reason why you could drink a 12 pack and still be thirsty.
Try drinking a caffeine free soda instead of the leaded one. I switched to Caffeine free diet Pepsi, and I promise you, you cant tell the difference.
