Is there a way to stop bunions hurting with out surgery?

Question:
my mum has realy sore ones on her feet and doesn't want the surgery cuz it is rubbish

Answers:
Rubbish? One of our doctors is an orthopedist specializing in feet. He does lots of them with an excellent success rate. Find a good doctor. Not a Podiatrist. An ortho foot specialist. It does work. I had mine fixed 2 yrs ago. No problems at all. It's really the only "cure". Pad and other things might help a litle, but the pain will still be there.
be sure to wear good fitting foot wear, a friend of mine had the op and shes pleased with the results
Have you tried the nunion plasters you can buy at the chemist? They can make a difference!
do her a favore and get her a pedicure they will rub her feet adn possibly trim away the dead skin around her bunions which will help a little adn she will get her toes painted and all that will do her some good, get her a little pampering for a day, after all she is your 1 and only Mum! take care adn good luck!
My friend who is only 40 has bunions on both feet and is in terrible pain. She has tried the bunion cushions but the relief from them is short lived. She has seen the surgeon who was reluctant to operate at first owing to her age BUT has agreed to operate.
I have heard it is a painful time afterwards but well worth it.
My friend has the op in September.
apart from those gel or sponge sticky pads then the only other things is to wear wider shoes. not a very glam option so that depends on how old your mum is. the link below may help as it talks through the different options. surgery is a good solution & is`nt rubbish if you find a decent orthopeadic surgeon.
good luck
i had mine done two years ago its the only thing to do if she wants them to get better
If I were ur mum I would have the surgery - I have had bunions since I was 7 and have had both mine removed in the last 5 years. It takes 5-6 weeks recovery time and 1 week of that is slight discomfort but I feel that it has been well worth it to have normal looking feet and no pain and I do not class the surgery that I have had to be rubbish. Good luck with whatever ur mum decides to do
