I got hit on my forearm w/a softball 3 days ago. Now a bruise is finally showing. Is it going to get worse?

Question:
The spot is still tender, but the bruise is just now showing up and seems to be getting a little darker each day. Is it going to continue to get darker and should I be worried?

Answers:
It will probably get a little worse just don't bump it. When bruises take longer to show up it's more than a surface bruise, it got down to the muscle and is working its way up. Don't be worried unless it swells and never gets better. Those usually take a week or two for me before they go away.
YES>
it may get darker but after at least a week it will go away
It could get worse depending how hard the soft ball hit you. There is a natural substance called arnica, you can usually buy it at a health food store, and sometimes at a pharmacy. This stuff is great for taking care of bruises. You take it by mouth. But make sure you don't have a bleeding disorder. And also make sure you are not taking some medicine on a regular basis that might interact with it.
i got hit in the leg recently with it and it actually left a sock mark on my leg, ususally its nothign to worry about because it does happen alot
you probably just bruise really easily in that spot
I was in your same predicament. No, it shouldn't, But that's the key word: SHOULDN'T. If it starts to swell, then put ice on it to keep that swelling down, If the swellingwill not stop, then you will need to take it to a doctor to check for a break and to make sure everything is in order. You might just want to do that (go to the doc) anyway just to be safe.
