Anyone know ANYTHING about arthritis?

Question:
i was just diagnosed with arthritis in a small area in my right foot, right on the joint area. this has made it difficult to walk in heels, which i thought maybe i broke or tore something. but its arthritis.

what causes arthritis and how can you get rid of it?

Answers:
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news: Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease. Once the cartilage begins to break down, it doesn't regenerate. There are some newer treatments for certain joints, particularly injections to help cushion them. One for knees is called Synvisc; it replaces the natural fluid so there is less stress on the joint (cartilage). However, there is no actual cure. There is no way to reverse the damage (regrow the cartilage).
Did you look it up? That's the best way to go with a new diagnosis. (Remember, if the website is a ".org" or a ".gov" it's very reliable information.)

arthritis simply means inflammed cartilage that lines your joint. these areas have poor blood circulation and since the joints are at work constantly the friction doesnt let it heal fast. besides there are a lot of causes of arthritis other than age related. they usually stay with you for life unless they are of infective origin.
cod liver oil can help keep the joint supple if taken every day...it might not go away but you can learn to manage it well' docs have great meds now for it..
When my mom got arthritis in her fingers, she went to a doctor/nutritionist, they told her it was the artificial sweeteners [like Sweet'n'Low, and Splenda.] So she stopped eating it and used the brand Stevia instead, and her arthritis went away. So if your eating artificial sweeteners of any kind, i would recommend stop eating them, and it might help. However this might not be what is causing it to flare up, since we have a long history of arthritis on my moms side, and I'm sure they don't all use sweeteners. But it worked for my mom, so you should try going off it for like three weeks and see if it works[ assuming you use the artificial stuff.] Also you could just go see a nutritionist, they could probably tell you exactly how to get rid of it. Hope this helped.
