I have insect bites all over my body, what should I use for medicine?
Question:
What kind of medicine should I use to stop the itching and help it to heal?
How can I prevent from getting more?
Answers:
Depends on the byte. If they are little red bumps, they might be chiggers. You might want to apply some clear nail polish to them so they cannot breath anymore. Always helps me.
calamine lotion !! not sure on the spelling !
If you live near mexicans.move! Might be bed bugs!
if they are big bites they are most likely spiders - if so clean your house from top to bottom to get rid of the webs.
if they are small maybe red ants, fleas, bed bugs - then fum agate.
depending on the bites...aloe vera will help them heal and stop the itching..I would eat lots of garlic if you want to help clean the blood and the little buggys dont like it.also if you get some pennyroyal oil and citronella oil and mix them with water 1 teaspoon of each to a spray bottle of water...and spray yourself they wont bite...
It depends on what kind of bite they are, but there is a home remedy that almost universally works. Make yourself a bath with baking soda (MAKE SURE IT'S SODA)-a lot of it, like a whole box, and soak in it. OR you can make a paste out of the baking soda by mixing it with a small amount of water and apply to each bite individually. It will sting at first, for just a second, then it will take all the itch out. It really works. Now for preventing bites: it would really help to know what kind of bites you are getting. If you have bed bugs there is nothing you can do but replace your bed and thoroughly clean your room--every crevice. If you are being bit by chiggers, mosquitos, fleas, tics or other "outdoor" pests, Avon sells a product called Skin So Soft. They have some that comes in a spray, it is like a body oil. It was never meant to be a bug repellent, but it is the best stuff in the world. Ask any fisherman-they all have it in their tackle box to keep the mosquitos away. For some reason the bugs just hate the smell of it, but it is a very nice smell to humans. I like this better than using a regular bug repellent. There's just something about spraying my body down with pesticides that bothers me. Good luck. I sure hope you don't have bed bugs!
Well you're best bet is calamine lotion, time, and good distractions. They are VERY annoying pests. The itching and stinging should be solved with the lotion. I've done this for years; and although it's a bit nasty; every year around late spring about one or two days; I stock up on garlic and onions and eat and eat on them. As nasty as they are; I never have had a bugbite since. I hold belief that insects hate the taste of garlic/and or onions in the bloodstream, so they leave you alone for the entire summer. Just try it once; you'll be a believer.
Calamine lotion, otherwise known as the pink stuff, still works.
Try tea tree oil. You can find this almost anywhere thanks in large part to the internet, but you can also find some at a health food store
Rub raw garlic over the bites.
Make a paste of water and baking soda and put a dab of paste on your bites. Other pastes that you can make consist of: salt and water or salt and butter.
Apply cold compresses. Whether you use a face cloth, a towel, or you fill a ziplock bag with ice, make sure it’s cold.
Aloe vera, whether in gel form or straight from the plant itself, works magic with mosquito bites. Simply apply it to the bite and forget about it.
Toothpaste or hemorrhoid cream works on the bites as well.
The more you scratch a bite, the worse it is. The scratching can also lead to scarring and infection of the bite. If the bite gets infected, contact your doctor for proper treatment.
for prevention try:
Time-release DEET for the skin:
Apply timed release Deet lotion to exposed areas of skin. Apply once and that is all you need for the day under normal conditions.
PERMETHRIN for clothing:
Wear permethrin treated clothing. Apply once to clothing for protection lasting weeks. Kills ticks, mosquitoes and other insects.
MaxiDeet 100% DEET:
For added protection in swarming insects or known disease areas, you can apply a higher DEET formula such as 100% Deet (Maxi-Deet) to skin or natural clothing.
PERMETHRIN for fabrics:
Apply Permethrin to mosquito netting, tents or tent flaps, stroller covers, the outside of sleeping bags, etc. Permethrin will not harm fabric, and is odorless when dried.
you can also try bath and body works lotion, it worked for some people
