Arthritis in knees?
Question:
At my drs appt, what will they do to determine this? Also, my mom and dad both take glucosamine.is this a possibility or not because I am of child-bearing age and we will probably try to have another baby in the next few years?
Thanks for any input!
Answers:
Yes it's possible that you have Arthritis age doesn't matter anyone at any age can have Arthritis. I have Arthritis in my hands knees and elbows.
Just like you I have knee problems, I have osteoarthritis. I found taking vitamin D reverses some of the damaging effects, but there is a test for that. I also take inflammatories when its cold. Your best bet is to work out to keep your knee moving. Also your knee could be off track (meaning on the side) and not know it. That right there would cause you to have knee problems.
I think the jury is still out on glucosamine. I took it for a year and it did nothing for me. My BIL took it for 5 weeks and was virtually cured of his knee pain. You are not too young to start having this kind of pain. I was younger than you when it started for me.
When you see your PC ask for a referral to an ortho who specializes in knees. A short course of physical therapy can teach you proper stretching and range of motion exercises and some to strengthen your muscles around the knee. Good luck. I hope you feel better.
