Is it ok to eat scrambled eggs after gallbladder surgery?

Question:
I haven't eaten for 3 days straight and I am so hungry right now. All I tcan think about is scrambled eggs, do you think it would be ok to eat them?

Answers:
sure, they should be fine -- just go light on the butter or oil. without the gall bladder, your liver is still producing bile but without the valve machanism to regulate it. in plain english, this means it's hard to know if your stomach will digest oils properly or not for awhile.

your surgeon should have given you a list of acceptable foods. here are a few that are recommended before surgery, but should be good for you afterwards, too:

- more whole grains (unrefined)
- more vegetable protein (like soy)
- more pectin (apples)
- more cellulose (celery, crisp fruits & veggies)
- less saturated fat (especially red meat)
- no white flour products
- less white sugar (in everything you eat or drink)

in the next few days, just try a little bit of something to see how your body reacts, then eat more if you seem to be okay.

good luck!

Maybe you should ask your doctor
Sure. I had my gallbladder out and eggs are not a problem. You have to go trial and error and see what agrees with you and what doesn't. That is all you can do. But I don't think eggs would have any negative effects on your body.
This is a question you need to ask your dorctor. For some it might be ok as for others not. so check with your dr he will know better then anyone on here
I had my gall bladder taken out to, isnt teh shouler pain a killer? well i ate on teh third day i had broth and toast it actually was great i didnt eat eggs when i had gall bladder problems well i couldnt eat anything but im sure a nice scrambled egg would be fine or just try teh broth idea and jello is great starter too. hope u feel better i feel your pain.
You are now status post cholecystectomy, as we say. The problems you will have are with fats. Don't add butter or maragarine, unless it's fat-free and enjoy your scrambled eggs!

I'm a nurse.
depends how long after your surgery. i had my gallbladder removed and i was told to eat light (no salty) soups for about 3 days then by that time your stomach should be getting used to the change, but absolutely NO greesy foods!!
It's OK to eat scrambles eggs DURING gall bladder surgery.
u should ask your doctor 1st
Sure, eggs are o.k. to eat. Try not to scramble them in butter, though. It is most important to avoid anything that is greasy or fatty, as your body will have a harder time digesting these foods. Also, spicy food and dairy products should be avoided. Try to get back to a relatively bland, normal diet.
