What causes numbness on the left side of ones body after surgery?

alot of things. the biggest factor is what type of surgery. if it was a ingrown toenail removal there is a bigger issue at hand. call 911 if this is the case. if the procedure was major, I.E. brain surgery or spinal fusion. call your nurse you should be in the hospital still. at any rate a little discomfort or numbness to the area of the procedure is normal . if the numbness is greater then that go to the hospital

My dad has this... he had brain surgery on the RIGHT side of his brain which cause the numbness on the opposite side. but i don't know what kind of surgery you're talking about.
