my boyfriends stepdad just got hep. from his liver starting to shut down from too much drinking over the years, they are now worried his dads daughter and my b/f's mom have it too from being exposed to him...i want to know if its possible to my bf to have it and it be transmitted to me...where can i get more information on something like this.

Ask your doctor to test you, they just take a bit of blood and in a few days give you the results and without insurance it only cost me around 80.00 or so. Tell them you want to be tested for all the hepitiuses.
Hepitius c is the only deadly one, mostly all hepitiuses are spread through sexual or blood contact. So if you or your guy have not had sexual contact with your stepdad not touched his blood and you clean your dishes between each use then you should be fine. Doctors just warn the family just to be certian.

go to www.webmd.com you have to know what type of hepatitis he has. a b or c.... c is contracted through blood or dirty needles and sometimes through sexual contact. tatooing with unsterile needles. if drinking is the thing that caused this he probaly has psorias of the liver also. c is very contagious, not real sure about the other two. good luck
