are there any proven cures for stroke patients?
Question:
Answers:
Brain tissue dies in a stroke. That can't be cured. Living brain tissue has to take over whatever functions were lost when the dead tissue died.
Without therapy to engage new tissue in taking over old functions, there isn't going to be recovery. The patient has to work to regain whatever lost functions he can. Daily excercises in every area affected is necessary to improve function.
Someone is needed to provide the excercises and the motivation to work. If the patient doesn't want therapists helping, at least get them on the scene to show someone else what to do. The therapies are pretty routine, so loved ones can take over when they know what they are doing.
