follow up on shingles question?

I asked and got several good answers to my shingles problems, however, I have one more--for now! Along with facial and eye shingles on my rt side of my face,
I have a burning pain on the same side as the shingles, from the back of my ear, down the side of my neck and across my shoulder. No lesions there but very tender and burns alot. I'm sure it's part of this horrible condition, just wondering if it goes away when I'm well? thanks

Scientists Say That Mosquitos Can't Transmitt Aids, But They Can Transmit Other Diseases. Why Not Aids?

Answers:
Firstly, be sure you are under a doctor's care for shingles that has attacked your eye -- that is a big, important deal -- it could result in blindness in that eye.

Secondly, the course of shingles differs -- for some it is only a short duration with only moderate pain, for other, it is lengthly, and the pain is severe. Sometimes lesions following the burning, along a nerve root, and sometimes no lesions appear.short meaning a few weeks, lengthly meaning a year, sometimes longer. Be sure your diet continues to be supportitive, and you might ask your doctor if Neuronton (forget the correct spelling, but think this is correct) would help..

You're experiencing pain along the length of the nerve that is affected by the shingles. It's a deep, burning, aching kind of feeling. Treat it with the Balsam of Myrrh from my previous answer. it'll make it go quicker.
My pain goes from my right elbow and follows the nerve all the way to the tip of my small finger.
It starts about 3-4 days prior to an outbreak. It's what I call my stress barometer. When the outbreak occurs, the pain subsides. Then you only have to deal with the local pain at the sore.
Stress brings about the outbreaks. so avoid it whenever possible. Don't keep stuff bottled-up inside of you. That's a sure-fire way to bring on an attack.
Some physicians prescribe Zovirax to put on the area(s). I like the balsam instead.
Currently, there is no cure. but hang in there and like I said, be cool and avoid long-term stressful situations as best as you can.

What medicine did the the doctor gave me?

After the rash goes away, some people may be left with long lasting pain called post-herpetic neuralgia or PHN. The pain is felt in the same area where the rash had been. For some people, PHN is the longest lasting and worst part of shingles. The pain can make some people feel weak and unable to do things they usually enjoy. Those who have had PHN say the pain is sharp, throbbing, or stabbing. Their skin is so sensitive they can't bear to wear even soft, light clothing. People who have PHN call it a pain that won't go away.
The older you are when you get shingles, the greater your chance of developing PHN. This pain can last for weeks, months, or even years.
The PHN pain can cause depression, anxiety, sleeplessness, and weight loss. Some people with PHN find it hard to go about their daily activities like dressing, cooking, and eating. Talk to your doctor if you have any of these problems. There are medicines that may help. Usually PHN will get better over time. Hope you feel better very soon!
