Always taking my inhaler...nothing seems to help my asthma...any1 had sucess kicking chronic bronchitis/asthma

Question:

Answers:
If you are "always" using your rescue inhaler, your asthma is not under control and this can be very dangerous, especially with chronic bronchitis as well. You need to see a pulmonary specialist as soon as humanly possible and get treatment that gives your real control over your disease.

You should be using a peak flow meter several times a day and documenting the results. If no one has instructed you in this basic, you aren't getting adequate care and need a different caregiver as well. Often you will see your numbers dropping while you are still feeling fine and you can prevent or lessen attacks before they happen.

If you have to use an inhaler several times a day, whatever therapy you are on is simply not effective. You may need to add other inhalers, nebulizers, steroids and other medications to get good control. and may need to change things in your environment as well.

Asthma is not just a nuisance. One bad attack can kill you, so please call a doctor as soon as possible.

My asthma, by the way, wasn't diagnosed until my 40's. It took a good pulmonologist to find a program that works and I have not had a severe attack in years. So yes, you can control the illness. Some pro athletes have asthma.
