If people know the ways of getting infected with HIV, why they dont protect them selfes?

For me is very alarming that at this time 2006, more people get infected with HIV, why why. Im very concerned, MY dad died 3 years ago of HIV and HEP C, i didnt knew it till one month before his death. I was shocked. I think he suffered very much.

I remember when I was in tenth grade and someone did a social report on aids. No one knew what it really meant. Before the big thing was herpies.

Now this aid epidemic is out of control. And I am sick of people saying that so and so brough it over from another country.

People are to trustworthy and think it can not happen to them.

There was a moment in college that change my life for ever and to this day when I think about it I cry. So excuss the tears. I was in college and the aids quilt was going around and it came to the college I was at

. I went in having no idea what I was going to see.. Chills ran up and down me as looked at this quilt and saw all the pictures and messages on each and every quilt square.

For a moment I stopped and starred as tear ran down my face. There was this young man who was married and had children. He died of aids. And of course left his wife and children behind.

One of the things that made me cry was that I would have never thought a family man to have aids. I thought only those who were homeless or drug users or homosexuals could get aids.

For the first time in my life a feeling came over me that I can not explain. I still shiver and get chills and of course cry when I think off all those people who died.

It also gave me a better understanding it made me believe that two men can actually love one and other as a couple.

For months after that I could not get the immage of the quilt out of my mind as I thought of each square and each person leaving a loved one behind.

For the next two weeks my life had changed all i could think about was all those people who had died of aids and all the people they left behind.

The image of the quilt squares even went to bed with me in my mind.

I am very sorry for the loss of your dad. There is not near enough education, and now days people are have sex at even a younger age.

They are having sex even before they are taught about birth control and sexually transmitted diseases.

Alot of people are not educated.They do not take advantage of the countless wealth of information regarding HIV and AIDS.I am surprised at how naieve some people are,including some of my friends.They are so afraid of the topic they want nothing to do with it. Ignorance
