0kay sooo what is your question ?
My daughter has 3 birthmarks too and my doctor told me that it's not unheard of but just to pay attention to them to see if there is any growth to them or if they start to do anything out of the ordinary. She's now 7 and they look exactly the same as before. So I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just pay attention to them and if they begin to grow or do something abnormal, then make sure you notify your doctor.
My cousin had a birthmark on her head when she was a baby. She had to have it removed becuase it could possibly have caused cancer when she got older. I don't know if this is the same situation, but that might be why they were concerned. Ask more questions next time you take her to the doctor, also.
The birthmarks may be cafe o lait spots, which come from a genetic disorder called Neurofibromatosis. The diagnosis is based on 5 or more spots of about 1/3 inch in size. My son has this, so I know it is not deadly. It is mostly cosmetic because they also can get fibromas or raised spots on the skin. Be sure to keep in close contact with her doctor and follow all their directions. People with NF typically need routine eye checks and Doc visits 2x per year. I would also recommend joining the support group in your area to help with any questions you may have.
what of load of crap saying birthmarks can give you cancer. I am 27 and i was born with a birthmark covering my left knee it is dark brown and i have a few others on my arms and i do not have cancer there is nothing to worry about only if the birthmark is red and is on her eye are well this is what they told my mother 27 years ago. The birthmark will get bigger as the skin stretches as she gets older, but some birthmarks to go away. As for measuring her head the midwives/doctors measured my 3 children head as it is a development thing nothing to worry about. Enjoy your daughter don't worry about little things like birthmarks.
