In my opinion, it would differ to an individual. I personally know of a person who has overcome the limitations of down's syndrome and almost lives a completely normal life(including driving a car).
To answer your question, driving is strenous and needs a lot of focus. I would leave this solely to the discretion to the patients doctor/therapist. But I do believe that if the person is capable(approved by a professional therapist/doctor), then he/she should be allowed to drive.

Why not? As long as they're capable of passing a driving exam and obeying driving laws, Downs folks should be permitted to drive. yes just because they have a disability doesn't mean they shouldn't have the same privileges as everyone else
Absolutely! If they are capable of passing the test, there is no reason not to let them drive. And many do!
