Serious Question?

Question:
Do you think Downs syndrome children who are able to reason and hold a job should be allowed to drive?

Answers:
In my opinion, it would differ to an individual. I personally know of a person who has overcome the limitations of down's syndrome and almost lives a completely normal life(including driving a car).

To answer your question, driving is strenous and needs a lot of focus. I would leave this solely to the discretion to the patients doctor/therapist. But I do believe that if the person is capable(approved by a professional therapist/doctor), then he/she should be allowed to drive.

Other Answers:
To drive what?

Yes. If they pass the drivers test. Yes. I think they should. If they can pass a driver's test without help.

why not

yes i believe they should be able to because everyhone deserves a chance in everything and only if they pass a drivers test with out any help

Why not? As long as they're capable of passing a driving exam and obeying driving laws, Downs folks should be permitted to drive. yes just because they have a disability doesn't mean they shouldn't have the same privileges as everyone else

Absolutely! If they are capable of passing the test, there is no reason not to let them drive. And many do!
