Certainly see a dentist or periodontist for correct diagnosis. If it is from gum loss or canker sores, then you can apply to the open wound with an over-the-counter kitchen spice called ALUM. Alum is used to turn cucumbers into pickles. Totally safe and natural. Alum can be directly applied to any cuts, orally or externally like a cut on a finger. It heals very quickly and tastes like aspirin. If you are having dental problems, check into the benefits of Vitamin C - Ester C is the best variety, as it gets better absorbed into your system. Good Luck!
