My guy had genital warts. He has a small wart on his thumb. Can I get warts if his thumb touches my genitals?

Question:
I understand that the virus is incurable, and I have in fact had HPV (or have I suppose), but he has no warts now, and the last time he did was 2000. I know that the viruses between those on your genitals and those on your hangs are different, but if he puts that finger in or on me, then I still worry. Also, if we use condoms, will I be okay?

Answers:
generally speaking the warts on your hands, feets, etc are different strain of HPV and usually dont cause gynecological problems as the strains actually found in the vagina. therefore, usually no it can not be passed on to your genital area. but if you feel uncomfortable just tell your mate. no need to make yourself uncomfortable because he will eventually sense that and you both will become uncomfortable.
Yes, you can get the virus if his thumb touches you. Using condoms is the best thing, but to be safe, make sure he has no active warts before engaging in sexual activity.
