Does mederma really work for scars?

Question:
This is a product that's supposed to reduce the appearance of scars. I'd like to use it on a scar from a mole removal, and on some light scars on my face from acne. I need to know if it's worth the $25 investment.

Answers:
Yes. It does work--and quite well. It did in my case, anyhow. I used it to reduce the look of a scar in a melanoma removal spot. It worked so well, I can't tell that the skin ever had a scar. I also used it on a scar I got four years earlier from falling off a bike, and Mederma greatly lessened its appearance. I talked with my dermatologist before buying it, and he said that the newer the scar is, the more effective the Mederma will be.

Other Answers:
It helps to decrease the appearance of the scar but I prefer pure vitamin E oil!

First, I would recommend Coco Butter. It really works very well to lighten and reduce the appearance of most scars. i hv a friend who use this product on her accident scar.it works wonderfully.the scar is less visible nowadays

YES! It works wonderfully, AND, good news, there is a "generic" version in most stores such as Kmart or Walmart that works just as well at at LEAST half the price. My son was badly injured in a go-cart accident, both bones in his forearm were broken,so he had VERY long scars on both sides of his arm. Then, he had a second operation at the same site, because he had to have steel plates put in.Even though the scar was now horrendous, the Ortho Dr.gave us our first sample of this cream.now you can BARELY see a scar, and that`s only if you really look! That stuff is amazing! I think you`ll be pleased!! Good luck to you! From my heart to yours..!! : )
