I can't stop itching at small bumps on my skin, what are they?
Question:
I'm worried because every day I keep scratching at them and then it almost seems that the next day another bump appears.
I have researched scabies but I see no zig zag trails on the skin, its just like random swollen red bump appears and its extrememly itchy.
Any other ideas?
Answers:
chiggers?

could be mosquitos or possibly chigger bites (which itch more!!) try applying some OTC hydrocortisone cream, this should help the redness as well as the itching. if they don't clear up in a 4 or 5 days, see your doc, it could be an allergic reaction to something that you've eaten/come into contact with.
Use topical antihistaminic drug like Anthisun, calamine lotion. If it still itchy then contact a Dermatologist. Dont get worried, the problem is not so severe, just need a medical attention.
This sounds to me like chiggers. They bury themselves in your skin and live there. The area they bury themselves in will turn into a red and itchy bump and more or less drive you nuts. they way to cure the problem is to put a dab of fingernail polish on each bite. This will seal the surface and not allow air to get to the insect. It will die and the itch will go away. The finger nail polish will eventually wear off. If you don't want to use one with color in it, use a clear polish. To avoid them biting you in the future, wear some kind of repellent or body cream.
You are definitely having an allergic reaction. It is quiet possible to something else and not necessarily to the insects that were with you on the outside. Did you eat anything new? What about the lotion or other skin products you used that night?Or even that of your friends? How about the material of the clothes you wore? Anyways, as a scientist I must advise you to go to your dermatologist or even a physician. If you don't want to do that then go to the pharmacy an pick up a topical cream. This will probably soothe the itch even relieve the symptoms somewhat but my best bet is for you to see a professional.
it could be egzama or umm a heat rash!
