interesting question here?

Question:
they have a make a wish foundation granting children dying of cancer a special wish to come true for them i'm curious to learn why don't they have the same program for adults

Answers:
some of the specialized cancer groups do have something along the same lines as Make-a-wish. I know that breast cancer has one, but when my husband was ill, I know I looked for something along the same lines and could never find anything for him and he so wanted to go home one more time before he died. unfortunately, we just didn't have the funds to make that dream come true.

as for the person who stated that they are adults and should have the funds, apparently you have never dealt with cancer on a personal level. even with great insurance, treatment is expensive, plus the fact that in most cases the patient is no longer able to work, so you are living on one income instead of two and disability only lasts so long before it too runs out. it is not unusual for cancer patients and their families to lose everything they own to foreclosure and repossession because there just isn't enough money to cover all expenses. so what do you choose, the house and car, or your loved one?

I have always promised myself, that once I finish my education and am making good money, I was going to try to get some sort of Wish foundation for adults underway, just trying to get done with school now.

because adults can fend for themselves .

That's a good question! Because it is tragic that children are dying without ever having lived. They assume adults have lived and don't need to go to Disney Land.

because adults already had the time to live out a lot of life. the children haven't.

they haven't seen beautiful places all over the world or met interesting poeple (celebrities) or had people applaude them (one the last goal of a soccer game) or been in love (maybe never even a first kiss). they've missed so much more than an adult has already gotten.

I think they do it for children because they won't have the rest of their lives to get to do everything they want.

So they grant a wish for that child.usually it's children with terminal cancer.

Adults usually have their own sources to do the things they want. I think it's a good idea to do it for adults too.but maybe it's not seen as necessary because they are older and have experienced more things

adults have jobs because people don't care about adults

well children are more important than adults.i would rather see a child happy than an adult.a childs eyes when they are happy makes my heart beat a little faster

I've always wondered about that one myself. If I was on my deathbed tonight I know for damn sure I'd be making a wish for my girlfriend and Jessica Alba to give me one hell of a show before I go.

My 8 year old son did get a gift from Make a Wish Foundation, you know what he got , a computer so he can do his school work from a hospital bed in St. Louis. I think adults have lived a life where as a child has not. My son has never had the chance to be a normal healthy child where as an adult, there is a good chance that they have at one time or another been normal. At least for part of their life. i work for the make a wish foundation. first of all everyone needs to know that in the past it was only for terminal children. now they grant wishes to children with life threatening conditions. they have changed it. and there is foundations for adults. search the web they are there. but the rules are a lot different. most of them say you have to have 3 to 6 months to live. that is my dream to start a foundation to help adults. there are some with heart disease ect that will live longer. they might want to take their children to the ocean for the first time ever for all of them before anything happens to him or her. one day my wish will come true
