is it safe to have sex when you are not having attack of herpes 2 virus?

Question:

Answers:
Depends on your definition of "safe".

If you mean, can the other person not get it? Then the answer is a big NO! Genital herpes can be spread whether the person is having an outbreak or not. I personally contracted genital herpes from a guy who was not having an outbreak or showing any signs of the virus. My fiance (boyfriend at the time) got genital herpes from me about 2 months into our relationship. I hadn't had an outbreak in almost 2 years! According to Valtrex, 70% of people with genital herpes got it from their partner when they were showing no signs or symptoms of the virus.

You can make it safe by using certain precautions. ALWAYS use condoms! Also, Vatrex is the ONLY medication for genital herpes proven to help prevent the spread of genital herpes. There is other medication available for genital herpes, but they are not proven to help prevent the spread of it. Using condoms and Valtrex is still not 100% safe though. Only abstinence is.

There are couples out there who have been together for 10 or more years. One person has the virus, the other does not. It is possible to not spread it, you just have to take special precautions doing so. Good luck!
You should always use protection and inform your potential sex parnters of your infection. It's the responsible and decent thing to do.
