Should DVT be cured by surgery?

Question:
I have DVT in my left leg, and it causes fatigue, I can't walk distances and my leg is constantly swollen. Can surgery be successfull to remove the clot from the blocked vein.

Answers:
Surgery is normally not done to remove clots like this. Usually blood thinners and the like. I certainly hope you are under the care of a doctor for this.
Surgery is not normally necessary. You will more than likely be prescribed medication to thin you blood and the clot so that it does not travel in blood stream to your heart, lungs or brain. You should not mobilise if you suspect that you have a DVT.
A doppler will be done to see if the clot has cleared. A doppler measures the flow of blood. If the clot is there the flow will be disrupted or less and once its cleared the blood flow would return to normal.
See a doctor though.
