Does Fybromyalgia effect the brain?
Question:
Answers:
Fibromyalgia is a syndrome characterized by chronic pain in the muscles and soft tissues surrounding joints, fatigue, and tenderness at specific sites in the body. I don't think it affects the brain per se; however, constant pain will certainly affect one's behavior and attitude. The good news is that it's not progressive, crippling or life-threatening and treatments are available. There are therapies available to help one learn to live with constant pain.
Other Answers:
No it does not dirrectly effect the brain but it depresses the central nervous system and can cause great deals of depression, especially when the pain level increases.
