Answers:
Lukemia is a type of cancer of the blood or blood-forming organs. People with leukemia often have a noticeable increase in white blood cells. It is a Form of Cancer that starts in blood -forming cells of the bone marrow.their are different types of Lukemia diseases, and it is classifies depending on speed of abnormal changes and on types of blood cell affected.
There are 2 major classifications of leukemia Myelogenous and lymphocytic, which can each be Acute or Chronic.
Acute Leukemia:
In this type of Lukemia the abnormal, immature blood cells called blast gets multipied and could get worst very quickly.
Chronic leukemia :
This type of leukemia worsens gradually. As the abnormal cells are more mature than acute luekemia they carry out some functions is present. This cells tend to live longer than normal white blood cells and result in an abnormal accumulation of cells.
Lymphocytic leukemia :
It affects the white blood cells called lymphocytes, which control the body's immune response by finding and destroying foreign substances.
Myelogenous leukemia
This type of leukemia affects granulocytes or monocytes a kind of white blood cells which help to protect the body against bacteria and infections.
Generally a person diagoned with leukemia has one of the type
Acute lymphocytic leukemia
Acute myelogenous leukemia
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia
Chronic myelogenous leukemia
Hairy cell leukemia
According some survey it is found that around 38000 people are estimated to diagnosed with the disease in 2005.
on an average Leukemia is diagnosed 10 times as often in adults than children and in general age of people who develop Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia is about 70 years, and Chronic Myelogenous leukemia about 50 years.
In General acute forms of leukemia affect both adults and children and of adults who develop Acute Myelogenous is 65, and those who develop Acute Lymphocytic, older than 70.generally in young children ALL is common and usually develops before age 10. According to some survey it given that roughly around 2,300 cases of childhood leukemia is diagnosed each year.

It is often broken up into the two primary categories of Childhood and Adult. There are many subdivisions beyond that, based on the malignancy and other factors.

The major forms of leukemia are divided into four categories. Myelogenous and lymphocytic leukemia each have acute and chronic forms. The terms myelogenous or lymphocytic denote the cell type involved.
Acute leukemia is a rapidly progressing disease that affects mostly cells that are unformed or primitive (not yet fully developed or differentiated). These immature cells cannot carry out their normal functions.
Chronic leukemia progresses slowly and permits the growth of greater numbers of more developed cells. In general, these more mature cells can carry out some of their normal functions.
Thus, the four major types of leukemia are: acute or chronic myelogenous, and acute or chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Leukemia is a cancer that occurs in your blood; specifically, your white blood cells (the ones that fight infection), and there are four different kinds: acute myeloid leukemia (AML), chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). AML is more resistant to treatment. CML usually doesn't occur if you're younger than 20. CLL usually occurs in older adults--65% of CLL patients are over 65. ALL is most common in really young kids, and over 80% of them survive past five years. Hope that helps!

Leukemia is cancer of the blood cell. Your body produces an ad normal amount of irregular white blood cells which, as time passes, crowd out your normal white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. This overpopulation of deformed white blood cells prevents your immune system from fighting off disease and infection, prevents oxygen from being properly delivered throughout the body, and permits some of your blood cells to stick together.
Doctors are aware of four main types of leukemia:
(1) Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a type of cancer that causes the body to produce large numbers of the white blood cells that play an important part in the immune system (lymphocytes).
(2) Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) is a type of cancer that causes the body to produce an increased number of the white blood cells that normally help fight infection (myelocytes).
(3) Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a type of cancer that causes the body to produce large numbers of mature white blood cells (lymphocytes).
and
(4) Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) is a type of cancer that causes the body to produce large numbers of immature and mature white blood cells (myelocytes)
All four types of this cancer can be found in children and adults of both sex. Although the first is most commonly affects children between the ages of 2 and 5; and the latter two are often reported as adult cases.
