Answers:
avoid the allergens you are allergic to. don't try smoking, if you are, quit smoking. if you were prescribed some corticosteroids for the maintenance of your allergies, take them religiously.

if you have an asthma attack don't hesitate to take 2 puffs from your albuterol inhaler. some people are too embarrassed to do this, but it could get worse if you didn't treat it.

if pollen triggers your asthma, i suggest you wash your bed sheets and when you come home, take a shower first before sleeping. my sister has asthma. she says it helps when she takes a shower because the allergens are not transferred to her pillowcase, that prevents from triggering an asthma attack.

hmm. what else? well asthma is pretty common -- there are fast-acting inhalers (like albuterol) that will help relieve any breathing problems you will have when it is triggered. be sure to bring your inhaler with you ALL the time.

Other Answers:
Don't smoke.
Drink lots of water, steer clear of anything you are allergic to (duh), no smoking, avoid long exposure to hot moist environments.
I read somewhere that honey was good for people with asthma. The article said to have a cup of hot tea with lots of honey everyday. Do a google search for more info.

Well, first, it's spelled asthma. Regular exercise is good for the lungs, and the best kind for asthma is swimming.

Drink a lot of water, avoid caffeine. Caffeine takes water out of your body, and your lungs need water to move out any mucus.

Get tested for allergies. A majority of asthma symptoms are triggered by allergies. Stay away from the family dog or cat. Get rid of feather (down) pillows. Get the carpet steam cleaned, and stay away for at least a day or 2 so the dust brought up from cleaning can settle again.

See a doctor and get a prescription for albuterol, a fast-acting inhaler that will relieve any attacks.

Finally, be aware of your stress. Asthma is made worse by stress and panic. Good luck!
carry an inhaler w/ you everywhere you go.

Myself having asthma.
Don't smoke, use you inhaler when needed. Use any preventative meds religiously. If you feel an attack coming on give yourself time to get back to normal it is scary a loss of breath but don't get excited just relax and concentrate on sitting straight up and your breathing it will help you calm yourself. If you don't have your inhaler for some odd reason a shot of plain hot coffee will help don't ask me why it just does.
yes i do, step 1 is to clean or have your house or apt. cleaned from head to toe..put cheese cloth on all incoming and outgoing vents. get rid of your carpeting..i.e. change to tile wood or whatever you can afford.have all of you stuffed furniture cleaned and deep vacuumed. Now this is where you start..this clean up (don't forget to throw away your old pillows} will take out all the irritants in your dwelling and make you feel much better almost immediately.I am a respiratory therapist and have work with people lung diseases for twenty years.Your second attack (or stage) of care is see a pulmonolgist for treatment..This is their field unlike a general practitioner..the pulmonologist. There are some of these doctors who specialize in asthma..Good luck..good health.easy breathing ..anita h RRT p.s. I have asthma too!! all my life and I'm a grandmother now..so i've had asthma for a long time..
avoid thing that trigger an attack..
try Yoga, there are studies thtat have proven that people who do yoga can actually lower their asthma symptoms to the point of being med free at times...
hey it depends on wht kind of asthma u hav.. and wht is causin it.. i hav got adult asthma and it comes up due to stress and sometimes due to dust and cold air.

if u got the same stuff than i would first advise u to first keep an inhaler handy at all times and if required keep some spare ones so tht u dont hav to goof arnd whn u need one. and also whenevr i feel uncomfortable than i just go and tkae a warm water shower. it makes ur secretions thin and relieves the congestion.. also u may avoid taking some juices or any things which might giv u heart burn as it is also knw to trigger asthma.. i hav recently started exercisin like joggin and swimin and it has really helped me. u can giv it a shot.. i havent had a attack since a long time.

hey and if u a teen than theirs gud news as 80% of people below 18 who get asthma outgrow it..
