my mom was just diagnosed with leukemia (CML).......?

Question:
they told her today that survival rate on medication is 90%, without medication, her survival rate is 0%. The problem is that the cost of the treatment is about 8 thousand dollars a month!!!!! does anyone know how to go about finding help to offset this cost?? she has medicare but the portion left after mcare pays is still far beyond what my mother brings in per month. If anyone has anyone has any suggestions please share...... and Please pray for her. Thanks

Answers:
most drug companies have programs where they give out the medication for free to people that cannot afford it. Check with your dr to see if they know of any programs or contact the drug companies (that produce the medications your mother needs ) directly.

There are also many patient assistance programs in place to supplement medicare. She may also be able to go on disability while being treated and qualify for disability income and medicaid.

Good luck and bright blessings in this troubling time.
i don't know the name of the site, but there is one that gives people free meds..my ex husband gets free meds.. maybe call the hospital near you and see if they know of a place. also check with human resource's.. sorry about your mom..
