What is a sign of a skin condition? Is it scratching and dry skin all the time.?

Question:
What if every time you finished taking a shower and your skin starts to itch so bad that you are itching yourself and your sking turns red and it starts to bleed? Can someone please tell me what is that??

Answers:
There are so many signs to a skin condition. I have the same terrible itching. I have a special ointment that my doctor prescribed and it works wonderful. it is called Utravate ointment, 0.05%. it also comes in a cream. But a cream washes off to easily, so I prefer the ointment because it is water repellent. If you don't have insurance. this is very expensive. Other signs of skin conditions are red marks on the skin. and sometimes can erupt. Skin can get red and inflamed in other conditions. You can be allergic to the soap you use in the shower. Hot water will not cause an irritation to that extent. You must see a dermatologist to determine what kind of skin problem you have, He may also put you on Prednisone for a short period of time. Benedryl will also help with making the itch stop, or you can get a script from your doctor. Unless you want to end up with scars, I suggest a doctor for you. Believe me, one who suffers terribly, it is worth your while with a doc. Good luck

Other Answers:
Maybe the waters too hot and your drying out your skin.lotion up w/cetaphil...then baby powder.

That sounds like an allergy! Have you seen your doctor yet? Someone needs to look at your skin to make a proper diagnosis. And try not to scratch it, but apply some lotion. maybe even calamine lotion. You don't want to end up with big scars from scratching your skin. that could be urticaria
