my elder brother has very high sughar near 300 so what should he do to cure it please help me ?

Question:

Answers:
It sounds like he has a diabetic condition, but then again, it could be other things. Only a doctor can make the proper diagnosis.

I have had diabetes for the past 10 years, and I've controlled it first with diet and excercise, and now with pills.

Not knowing anything about your brother or his habits, I can give you some general advice.

First of all, he should go to an endocrinologist, who specializes in diabetes. After a battery of tests, the doctor will do one of three things:
1) treat with insulin (extreme option as the first step)
2) treat with medicines (many pills are designed to work for diabetics)
3) treat with diet and exercise.

Secondly, he should go to a dietician who can help him plan his meals.t his is very important, as he will have to make some long-term changes to his eating habits.

Thirdly, he should plan some form of exercise. Even a 20 minute walk in the evenings is beneficial.

He should invest in a glucose monitor to be able to keep track of his blood sugar on his own. And he must track it, to know what triggers high blood sugar. In my case, an orange or a banana can send my sugars through the roof, but other fruits do not.

The important thing to realize is that while diabetes is not something to ignore, it can be managed and controlled with a little bit of effort.

But the first step is to see his doctor. As soon as possible.

He is lucky to have a sister like you, who cares about him.

Other Answers:
It sounds like he has diabetes. He needs to go in to the doctor and have them treat him. There currently is no cure for diabetes, just treatment options.

It needs to go to the doctor, because he sounds like he might be a diabetic. He should get on a diet that helps him identify high natural sugar foods, so he can avoid those.

He's diabetic. He must seek medical help or he will die. However once he has been seen by qualified experts there are things that will help.
Raw energy is wonderful, he needs a juicer and to drink raw freshly made celery, carrot & spinach juice or beetroot juice. He must not eat refined sugars and must be aware that sugae can also be called glucose or sucrose. Lactose, the natural sugar found in milk and fructose , the natural sugar found in fruit must also be watched. Bananas are very good for diabetics. Wholemeal bread, pasta and brown rice are much better forms of carbohydrates than the white versions, the sugar is released into the bloodstream at a far slower rate, therefore avoiding huge swings in sugar levels.
He should eat no more than 2 oz of meat or cheese 3 times daily or 4 oz fish. He should have no more than 250gms of butter/margarine a fortnight. Exercise is excellent for all of us, especially diabetics.
Alcohol must be kept well within the safe limits and smoking is a big no no. If he doesn't seek urgent medical attention he risks permanent kidney damage, damage to his vision, even blindness, damage to the nerves in his legs, please make sure he gets the help today. Keep us informed of his progress. All the best wishes. If you want anymore advice just let me know.

That depends on what units you are measuring in metric or American!! but either way it is high..

Assuming you are in the UK (as you posted on a UK site) see your GP for an emergency appointment and cut out all foods with sugar in them now:-

this includes fruit, starchy cereal, juices and pop.

also cut out all starchy food (bread, rice, pasta) as this turns to sugar very quickly in the blood replace these with oat or wholemeal based replacements.

lean meat and vegetables are fine but he should watch his fat intake.. and a increase in the amount of exercise will help.

BUT GO TO YOUR GP NOW!

I hate to say it, but that definitley sounds like Type II diabetes. I'd get him to a hospital-- stat. Is he diabetic ? does he take insulin or diabetic pills ? if so he needs to take it. Also he needs to watch his diet and routinely check his blood sugar levels. He needs to see his dr and let them kow about this poblem .

Does his breath smell of nail varnish?.
Is he weeing more than normal?.
Is he drinking more than normal?.
If so then don't waste time get him seen ASAP
