How long does it take for a cyst on a thyroid to go away?

sometimes they can go away in months and some people have to have them surgically removed......i hope you are seeing an endocrinologist and not just a family practice dr.

The last time I had a scan, 8 years ago, I had went from one cyst up to 5 cysts in 1 year. And as far as I know they've never went away. I actually go through times where it's really sore right in that area and hard to swallow. I've had my THS levels monitored but it's never shown low. However, I've always had symptoms of hypothyroidism. I just don't know that they ever go away and in my experience they've gotten worse. Just make sure you keep it monitored.
