About 2 years ago I had a henia in my navel repaired now its been back for some time?

Question:

when i'm standing ,my stomach goes hard in a 10cm radius around my hernia i don't want to have it repaired again because i had complecations last time and i'm due to start a new job and don't want to have to take time off.how long could i leave it? and what causes the hardenning? its not painful

Gee i don't know! note: my friend/neighbor had hernia surgery 2 yrs ago and no longer has a navel ! they had to remove it -with her hernia surgery. Best wishes! and try not to worry to bad.
i have read that hernias can cause : strangulation. - i guess do what your Doctor feels u should do, but i don't like most Doctors; have had bad experiences with several and it can cuz a person NOT to go to Doc's unless we just HAVE TO!!!
