Does acid reflux feel like a heart attack? DOes it go away?

Question:
I'm a 19 year female. i got acid reflux about 2 years ago and ever since i got it i always feel like a heart attack. Now i have anxiety of a fear of a heart attack. Is it going to happen?

Answers:
maybe they are two unrelated problems. I have acid reflux, but do not feel like i'm having a heart attack. usually if someone feels pressure in pain in the chest (like a heart attack) it is not heartburn. BUT, it could be indigestion. if you feel like that do you take antacids (like tums, rolaids) and notice that it helps. If that doesn't help, you should see the doctor about a possible heart problem.

Other Answers:
Acid reflux is a recurrent condition. You can control it somewhat with meds & other things (like don't lie down or go to bed right after your eat). You need to see a doctor and get on stuff to manage it. Untreated it can cause scarring of your esophagus, which may lead to other problems as you get older.
You need to see your doctor and get some medication for this. this would releave you anxiety but , if ever in dought go to the ER
? you're 19 and you say that feeling is like a heart attack? How would you know what a heart attack feels like? You're too young. Acid reflux feels like indigestion. Sometimes, it's real bad and the stomach acids sorta back up into your throat and NOTHING will get rid of that taste/feeling. Maybe baking soda I've heard. I've had GIRD forever it seems.
I'm 14 i've had acid reflux disease for 2 years.I know the pain is unbearable and it does feel like a heart attack-I would know cause' i've had a heart attack before. My doctor said some things that help are to lay down with your head propped up,chew non-mint sugar-free gum, avoid large, fatty meals,if you smoke, quit, lose the stress, lose weight, and don't wear tight pants.Did you know some foods that cause your acid reflux to act up are caffeinated or carbonated beverages, citrus fruits and juices, mint flavorings,chocolate,alcohol,t... foods, heavy seasonings, garlic, and onions.
No, it doesn't, acid reflux is a burning sensation, a heart attack is a tight feeling in your chest (angina) and possibly pain in your left arm.
