about leukemia?

my grandpa had leukemia and i thought that the doctors we to make you get into clean scrubs but they never made us. are to make you wear scrubs?

my stepma has AML..... She is currently goin through chemo....we have to wear scrubs and gloves each time we go to visit. [they have to be Removed Before leaving her room also]

the nurse told us that we wear them because it helps in the prevention of illness.....because she has no immune system.

my sister is going through leukemia now,,i find it depends on there condition and what kind of treatment they are recieving at the time,.
There are four major types of Leukemias. They are (1) Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (2) Acute myeloid leukemia (3) Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (4) Chronic myeloid leukemia.

I can't think of a reason to get into scrubs, unless they have had a bone marrow transplant recently. Some centers do make you get into full isolation garb before each visit, others don't. But in regular run of the mill Leukemia, as long as you aren't sick, there is no reason I can think of to wear scrubs.
