Should I go to a family doctor for spider bites or a dermatologist?

i had a bite a few years ago,and it ended up getting infected,or maybe it was the venom,i cant remember,but i ended up having to go to the er to have it drained!!!dont wait,you never know what kind of spider it was,and if it was poisonous or not!!

Family doctor, if they can't treat it, they'll refer you to a dermatologist.
for a mild reaction just see a regular MD - if you have a nasty very involved reation I would see a dermatologist becasue they are more sensitive to scaring issues - T
well if it was not a recluse or a widow, dont go anywhere. just send me the 1000 dollars you would have just wasted on a doctor bill

a family doctor should be able to treat your spider bites efficiently-most of the time it just requires oral antibiotics and some benadryl or hydrocortisone cream
dermatologists are considered a specialty doctor and most insurance companies will require a referral from your primary doctor before you can go see one.
